Multiple Content Types

Tribiq CMS can manage multiple types of content and deliver them appropriatly to site visitors. This makes your website more accessible to your visitors and more manageable by your administrators.

Centralised Content Management

Each type of content behaves differently, depending on it's "Type". Tribiq CMS supports a variety of content types enabling you to deliver your content to your users, in the right way. For example, a News Item should be delivered as a HTML item with News-like formatting, and a PDF should be delivered as a downloadable item with key file information, such as size and extension.

The Content Types

  • HTML web pages
In Tribiq CMS, a HTML web page provides users with a default page to enter Text, Image and other content.
  • Documents
The Document content type managed files which can be downloaded (e.g. PDF, Word, Excel, Zip - in fact any file format). You can build Document Lists which automatically update when you add a new release or download. Tribiq also supports on-the-fly PDF-to-HTML and DOC-to-HTML features. This enables you to rapidly upload third-party documents, let the CMS create textual extracts and have them available on your website without requiring your visitors to run third-party applications.
  • News
News is stored with plain text (the article itself) plus an optional summary, a release date and an image. You can build News Lists and RSS feeds to update your visitors. RSS provides an automatically updated resource that your site visitors can download (or feed into their own websites), which keeps them informed of any new news content you add to the site.
  • Forums
Forums are known to Tribiq CMS as a Content Type, allowing you to control and administer Forum pages with just as much ease as all your other pages.
  • Pictures
Tribiq CMS supports the mangement of images (and eventually videos, flash and other multimedia content) and can also automatically build interactive galleries of these items. Tribiq CMS provides enterprise-class image functions for building high-quality image portfolios, ideal for Press Releases.
  • Events
You can manage both one-off or recurring events which Tribiq CMS will then generate into calendar format, should your website require.
  • Newsletter Archive
With the Extranet Newsletter Module, Tribiq CMS can also automatically publish your emailed newsletters as HTML content items on your website. You can also restrict access to these archives - only accessibile by the members of the mailing list it was originally sent to for example.
  • Extranet
Allowing the Extranet to be defined as a Content Type allows you to manage your private areas just as you would your public areas. You can create multiple signup policies for different site visitors, and you can process their registration in a variety of ways.

Adding New Content Types

For many customers, the core content types are completely adequate for any given web site. However, there are situations where the standard behaviour of an existing content type needs to be modified, or perhaps, a new content type is required altogether.

In a situation like this, local object classes of the software can be added to override the core object behavior, or alternatively new ones can be created altogether. Tribiq can be commissioned to take on a task such as this and rapidly develop new content types to meet your specification.
