Multilingual Content Management

Tribiq CMS allows you to create content items in multiple languages. This means that you can create a web site which is available in English, French, Hebrew and Chinese, from a single Tribiq CMS installation.  Tribiq Community CMS includes basic multi-language support whilst Pro CMS gives you the platform  and the tools to provide advanced visitor language support.

Your site's layout and design can remain the same or be different across each language. Each content item exists uniquely in a single language so each language-variation of your content item can have different template and publishing settings.

Defining Language

A visitor can served an initial site language in a number of ways:

  • Through a language selector on the homepage, where the visitor can change language to one of the site's supported languages.
  • Coming to the website via a specific URL, e.g. domain.fr will load French, domain.de will load German.
  • Via geographic IP address lookup
(you would need an appropriate Geo IP detection package )

Changing Language

A visitor can change language throughout the website in a number of ways:

  • Reselect a language and to be redirected to the homepage of the new language.
  • With our AVLS Module (see below), your site can redirect users to the same page, in a different language.

When a visitor visits a multilingual Tribiq CMS site, they will initially have his browsing language set to the default language of the site. Tribiq CMS also enables your organization to quickly recreate international landing pages that allow your user to set a preferred language from then on. Using our AVLS Module allows for a system of equivalencies (see below). Your users can of course switch language whenever they like during the duration of thier visit.

AVLS Module

The Tribiq Advanced Visitor Language System (AVLS), available as a Tribiq Pro CMS Commerical Module, throughly enhances the visitor's experience of your multilingual website. This extends your Tribiq CMS installation by:

  • AVLS supports a system of equivalencies. This allows a user to switch to the equivalent content item of another language by using a language selector, rather than going to the homepage each time language is changed.
  • To compliment this, the Advanced Visitor Language Support (AVLS) allows text, other than content, such as error messages and dialogue phrases to be managed.
  • The AVLS Module also contains tools for managing and creating translated content.
  • Some languages (like Hebrew and Arabic) require right-to-left (RTL) text and layout handling with different character sets. Tribiq CMS supports this out-of-the-box, and doesn't require you to make any further changes.
